I did my graduate studies at Lalit Chandra Bharali College affiliated to Gauhati University, and joined it in 1996. This is the place where I had my first brush with computers as I took up Computer Science as an elective subject. This College was a pioneer in starting the subject along with Electronics and Environment Science under Gauhati University. Since then, my love affair with the machine has continued.
Lalit Chandra Bharali College was set up in 1971. Situated in the lap of the Nilachal Hills where the Kamakhya Temple is located, the college made remarkable progress with the opening of the Science stream in 1995. I was in the second batch of the Science Stream. The College celebrated its Silver Jubilee with a year long programme starting in the year 1996 and is gearing up to celebrate its Golden Jubilee with a year long programme starting in 2020.
